- Arbitrage
- Betting on all possible outcomes of an event across different bookmakers to guarantee a profit regardless of the result.
- Asian Handicap
- A spread betting system that eliminates the draw outcome by giving a half‑goal or whole‑goal advantage/disadvantage to each team.
- Bankroll
- The total amount of money set aside for placing bets, used to manage risk and track performance.
- Cash Out
- A feature that allows you to settle a bet before the event concludes, locking in a profit or minimizing loss.
- Closing Line
- The final set of odds offered before an event starts; a bettor who consistently beats the closing line is considered skilled.
- Double Chance
- A bet that covers two of the three possible outcomes (home win/draw, away win/draw, or either team winning) in a match.
- Draw No Bet
- A bet that eliminates the draw outcome; if the match ends in a draw, the stake is refunded.
- First Goal Scorer
- A prop bet on which player will score the first goal in a match.
- Futures
- A bet placed on the outcome of a tournament or award before it concludes, such as predicting the World Cup winner.
- Half-Time/Full-Time
- A bet that requires predicting both the result at halftime and the final result of the match.
- Juice
- The commission charged by a bookmaker on a bet, usually built into the odds, also called vigorish.
- Live Betting
- Placing bets on a match while it is in progress, with odds that update in real time based on the game flow.
- Moneyline
- A bet on which team will win a match, with odds expressed as a positive or negative number indicating the payout.
- Outright
- A bet on the overall winner of a competition, such as the team that will lift the World Cup trophy.
- Over/Under
- A bet on whether the total number of goals scored in a match will be over or under a set number.
- Parlay
- A single bet that links two or more selections; all must win for the bet to pay out, offering higher odds than separate bets.
- Prop Bet
- A wager on a specific event within a match, such as which player scores first or how many yellow cards are issued.
- Public Money
- The amount of bets placed by the majority of recreational bettors, often causing line shifts toward the popular side.
- Spread
- A point spread bet that assigns a handicap to the favored team to level the betting field, requiring them to win by a certain margin.
- Square
- A recreational or casual bettor who typically backs popular teams or overestimates public opinion.
- Steam
- Rapid movement of odds caused by heavy betting on one side, often indicating where the public is placing money.
- Unit
- A standard measurement of bet size, typically representing a small percentage of your bankroll to maintain consistent staking.
- Value Bet
- A bet where the odds offered are higher than the true probability of the outcome, indicating a positive expected value.
